It's Not What You Eat That Makes You Fat
It's What's Eating You That Keeps Weight On...
We know that emotions and emotional upsets can trigger binge and "comfort" eating...but did you know that negative emotions and constant emotional upsets can keep weight on that you could otherwise lose? It's true... the changes that occur when your adrenal glands produce certain hormones can keep you from achieving the slender body you want, and even put on more weight around your mid-section. What kinds of things upset you? Do you get offended easily by casual remarks from others? Do you have a hard time letting things roll off your back? If so, the reason probably is that it reminds you of a feeling from the past that threatened your well-being and sense of yourself as a strong person. Emotional pain and upsets from the past don't go away even if you aren't aware of them continuously. What usually happens is that we try to not feel the pain of the emotion and if the emotion cannot be HEALED, it gets suppressed. That means that even though you are not aware of the feeling, it is still in your subconscious mind affecting the way you think about yourself, and the way you react and respond to the world around you.
